The Crown Project
1 Samuel Series
Resident artist, Emily Shopp, created several art pieces to kick off Evanston Bible Fellowship’s fall series on 1 Samuel. Check out how she created these pieces.
“1 Samuel tells a story of sovereignty. The Almighty reigns as a just King over his people, exercising his dominion even in their rebellious establishment of an earthly kingdom. The crown depicts not only God as divine king and man as earthly king, but also foreshadows the future establishment of a new kingdom through Christ. This particular representation of a crown is fractured and disjointed, but still maintains a semblance of a former whole. A kingship that is flawed and broken by mankind’s rebellion against the God of the universe is held together by the promise and hope of the future king.”
