Preparing for Worship, 6/2/2013
We are finishing up our sermon series on the book of Proverbs this week and next. What a challenging and powerful thing it has been to study this text together at EBF! I am really looking forward to this summer as a chance for us to rest in God’s Word anew, and to experience a fresh pouring out of God’s Spirit.
Our service this week will include testimonies from four people who will be baptized on Sunday! During the service, each person will have a chance to share their story in front of the church, and afterwards we will have our baptisms in Lake Michigan. Expect a powerful time of worship as we celebrate with these people what God has done for them, and for all of us, through the finished work of Christ Jesus.
This week’s set list looks at God as the saving One, as the only hope for a fallen world. We will praise that God is the one who saves, pour our lives out as living sacrifices, reflect in the power of His love, and ask Him to lead us on in obedience end faithfulness, no matter where He takes us. Our worship leader this week is Curtis, and his team will include two acoustic guitars, a bass, two keyboards, a viola, a melodica, a glockenspiel, bass guitar, and drums. He will be joined by another one of our gifted leaders, Rachael, and three more vocalists.
