Father’s Day was a powerful Sunday for our church. Pastor Jason brought an anointed word from 1 Kings 11 about Solomon (the author of Proverbs) and how, late in his life, he fell away from the Lord. Our service was an impassioned plea for men to step up and follow God all the way to the end – to persevere in our faith. This was my first Father’s Day, and it was one to remember!
Our worship set drew on these themes as well, and we had a special time of worship during the song “White As Snow,” where Brady (who was leading that song) gave a passionate reading of Ecclesiastes, Chapter 12, over the groove. This reading was stirring and powerful, and shook us at our core as we heard the words of Solomon from the end of his life.
Our team was very tight this week! I led from the acoustic guitar, and was joined by Brady (vocals, melodica, clarinet), Erin (viola), Isabelle (vocals, synth), Jill (vocals, keys), Darryl (bass), and Nikko (drums). This was one of my favorite Sundays in recent memory!
