Sunday Service Recap 10/14/2012

Sunday, October 14, brought Evanston Bible Fellowship a sermon from Proverbs 1:8-19. We continue our study of the book of Proverbs that we began last month, and which we will continue through next Fall. The goal of the series is not to reduce Proverbs to moral codes or platitudes, but to seek Christ in the book of Proverbs, and to use it as a springboard for a deep rooted love for the Gospel that transforms our lives, our church, and our city. Sunday Service Recap 10/7/2012

On Sunday, October 7, Evanston Bible Fellowship continued our sermon series in the book of Proverbs with a sermon on friendship. Pastor Jason encouraged us to seek after deep, Gospel-centered friendships that drive us to Christ and encourage us in our daily walk with God. Our Ethos Communities discussed friendship during the week, and the Sunday service also offered a time for worship through Holy Communion. Our worship team this week included bass, drumset (doubling female vocal), MIDI keyboard, electric guitar, and euphonium. In addition to the female vocal from our drummer, one additional female vocalist joined my vocal and acoustic guitar for this team. Sunday Service Recap 9/30/2012

This past Sunday at Evanston Bible Fellowship was the second sermon in our new series, “Proverbs.” Over the next year, EBF will be hearing a combination of topical and exegetical sermons from the book of Proverbs, all designed to help us see and savor Jesus Christ. This most recent Sunday was a fantastic sermon on Wisdom, begging us to ask the question, “Is It Wise?” in our everyday lives. This service included ¬†an interview with Sam and Clare Sung (members of EBF and active participants in Ethos Communities and the Worship Team). Sam is a second-year student at the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University, and he encouraged other Kellogg students who attend EBF to get plugged in to[…]
